Important Information

  • Open/Elite winning boxers will advance to the National Golden Gloves Tournament.
  • Open/Elite winning boxers must be free and willing to travel on to the National Golden Gloves Tournament (Call (772) 332-7536 for dates and location)

Advancement

Only the Open Class Elite Female & Elite Male Champions will advance to the National Golden Gloves Tournament in Detroit, Michigan on May 11th through May 18th, 2024. All others are matched bouts only; however, weight classes are “mandatory”.

A boxer "Must Compete - Must Box” to be eligible for the Florida Golden Gloves Franchise to financially pay for their way to the Golden Gloves of America National Tournament.

Uncontested Boxers

The Florida Golden Glove franchise reserves the right to deem an “UNCONTESTED” boxer “Unqualified” to travel with the Florida Golden Glove franchise team to the National Golden Gloves of America Tournament in Detroit, Michigan.

An “Uncontested Open Class Boxer” may participate in the Golden Gloves of America National Tournament but must pay his or her own travel, lodging, and meal expenses.

Registration Information

NO BOOK - NO BOX - NO EXCEPTIONS

ENTRY FORM DEADLINE: Monday, March 11th, 2024, at 12:00 PM.
TOURNAMENT BOXER ENTRY FEE: $25.00 per entry.
TOURNAMENT COACH ENTRY FEE: $15.00 per entry.

Spectator Admission

$25.00 entry fee for all non-tournament participants (7 and under free). If a "USA Boxing registered" Boxer or Coach is not registered in the tournament, he or she must pay the $25 entry fee to watch the boxing tournament.

Age Determination

Advancing boxers must be at least 18 years of age on January 1st, 2024, but not yet 41 years of age on May 18th, 2024.

Citizenship

All “Legal” US citizens are eligible to participate. Non-US citizens who are legal residents of the US and have resided in the US at least one (1) year are also eligible to participate.

Passbooks

Boxers must have their 2024 USA Boxing membership current. "Head-shot photo", “Birth Certificate” and current “Annual Physical” form must be uploaded on their USA Boxing membership profile.

Coach Registration Information

All coaches must be registered with USA Boxing and certified for the 2024 year. All coaches must have completed the Safe Sport Training, Green Level Coaches Certification (at minimum), and have passed the Background Check, with USA Boxing. If the coach is not registered, he or she will not be allowed to work their boxer’s corner.

If a coach is not registered in the tournament, the coach must pay the $25.00 admission fee (No Exceptions).

Competition Weigh-ins & Pre-Bout Physical

Friday, March 29th, Saturday, March 30th, and Sunday, March 31st, 2024, at 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Only those boxers who are scheduled to compete on that day must weigh in. All Open class boxers must make their, “DECLARED” weight. If you are not in line to be weighed in by 10:00 AM you will be “disqualified”. Scales will close at 10:00 AM sharp.

Classes

All ages - Boxers per USA Boxing rules
No minimum number of contested bouts required to compete at the State Tournament. The minimum bout requirement to compete at the National Tournament is ten (10) bouts. Walkovers are not considered competition.

MMA boxers must compete as an “Open Class” boxer or see USA Boxing Rulebook - Rule # 8.2

Length of Rounds

Per USA Boxing regulations, time permitting.

There will be “NO” weight changes after Friday, March 22nd at 5:00 PM.

Requirements

Coaches

Coaches will need to bring:

  • Their red USA Boxing coach's passbook showing their current registration. The passbook must be current with with regiration and Safe Sport.

Competitors

Competitors will need to bring:

  • USA Boxing passbook. You cannot compete without a valid USA Boxing passbook, no exceptions.
  • Proof of current athlete physical (must be done within 12 months of competition start date. Tournament doctors will not be providing annual physicals at the event)
  • Proof of age (i.e. birth certificate, passport)
  • New Proof of citizenship
  • New(Male) Must be clean shaven at the weigh-in in order to advance to the national tournament, no exceptions.
  • New USA Boxing approved open-face headgear will also be required in all regional levels in elite/open class bouts leading to the National Tournament
  • USA Boxing approved headgear (**Masters must use USA Boxing approved Master's headgear)
  • Mouthguard (any color is now acceptable)
  • Trunks with a contrasting color on wasitband
  • Appropriate footwear
  • Boxing Jersey
  • (Male) Groin protection
  • (Female) Groin protection and breast protectors are optional
  • (Female) Must provide a signed Declaration of Non-Pregnancy
  • Note: You may have a maximum of 2 coaches in your corner.
